It is frequently used as a calibration standard in SAXS and WAXS, because it generates a large number of well-defined rings whose q-position is well-known.

Peak positions

  • Rings:
    1. 0.1076 Å−1
    2. 0.2152 Å−1
    3. 0.3228 Å−1
    4. 0.4304 Å−1
    5. 0.5380 Å−1
    6. 0.6456 Å−1
    7. 0.7532 Å−1
    8. 0.8608 Å−1
    9. 0.9684 Å−1
    10. 1.076 Å−1
    11. 1.184 Å−1
  • There is a doublet at approximately:
    1. 1.369 Å−1
    2. 1.387 Å−1
