X9 is an undulator-based (high-flux) and high-resolution beamline that can perform transmission and grazing-incidence scattering across a wide q-range (simultaneous SAXS/WAXS possible). Typical beam size is 150 µm for TSAXS and 50 µm for GISAXS (focus to ~15 µm is possible). Measurements in air or vaccum are possible. Sample environments for performing in-situ sample heating (RT-220°C for GISAXS, RT-80°C for TSAXS) are available. Accomodations for in-situ experiments (solvent annealing, electrochemical cells) are also possible. Contact Lin Yang, Masa Fukuto, or Kevin Yager for details.

This labscale rotating-anode instrument is available to users. Of course a labscale instrument will not have the flux or resolution of a synchrotron beamline; nevertheless this instrument is optimized for resolution, while providing sufficient flux for measuring strongly scattering systems (e.g. nanoparticles).
